Özet
In this paper, an algorithm that improves HO performance in heavily-used routes in order to improve overall cellular network performance and reduce negative impacts on the network is presented. When a user is going to experience HO, the proposed algorithm assesses the signal levels from neighboring cells that are close to the serving cell. After determining the location of base stations (BS) in the test area, the neighboring states of BSs are examined using k-nearest neighbors (KNN) method. The proposed algorithm is set to maximize the quality of service and received power for the current network status. Besides, received signal power data is collected and analyzed systematically for this study. Numerical results show that the proposed algorithm provides 9.63% performance improvement in terms of service quality and power comparison to the current practice.
