Özet

The primary intervention in cardiac arrest is chest compression-based cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). While the American Heart Association (AHA) recommends standard manual CPR, various CPR devices have been developed to deliver more consistent compressions. However, clinical data suggest these devices do not improve survival rates as effectively as manual CPR. This may be because manual compressions produce higher initial momentum, making blood circulation more efficient. However, due to the limitations of piston technologies, current CPR devices cannot fully mimic this impulsive compression. In this study, a new CPR device that provides effective chest compressions with high initial acceleration thanks to the patented piston mechanism has been developed. The device's performance has been compared with the widely used LUCAS 3 device, and instantaneous acceleration data have been obtained through sensors integrated into the pistons of both devices.
