Özet
This chapter deals with the production of wet-spun man-made fibers. In this context, major commercially available wet-spun fibers are discussed. The principles of wet spinning, including extrusion, coagulation, and drawing stages are described. Parameters affecting polymer solution and spinning process which, in turn, determine the resultant fiber behavior and performance, are briefly explained. Special attention is given to acrylic and cuprammonium fiber production and resultant fiber characteristics. End-use properties of wet-spun fibers are also evaluated. Finally, new developments in the wet-spun fiber production and future prospects are outlined.
