Özet

A discrete vortex method is used to simulate bluff trailing edge wake vorticity field in the form of coherent vortices that impinge upon a downstream leading edge. A typical characteristic of the self-sustained oscillations of impinging wake flow is presented. An attempt is made to simulate the formation of a secondary vortex from the tip of a sharp leading edge. The analysis is made to predict the development of the self sustained flow, the mean velocity distribution, the turbulence intensity distribution and the induced pressure distribution over the leading edge surface. The unsteady motion of the impinging wake vortices were correlated with the instantaneous pressure field characteristics. The method was proven to be quite accurate in correlating the phasing of pressure maxima and minima with the motion of incident wake vortices near the edge surface.
