Özet

Two level simulation (TLS) is a novel approach, which is based on the decomposition of velocity into large-scale and small-scale components, has been applied to simulate nearwall and isotropic turbulence. A coupled system of equations that is not based on an eddyviscosity type of assumption uses an explicit reconstruction of the small-scale velocity field. The small-scale equations are modeled on a family of three one-dimensional, orthogonal lines that are embedded inside the three-dimensional large-scale grid. Results suggest that the baseline TLS approach can capture important features of high-Re turbulent flows using relatively coarse grids.
