Özet
In this study, the effect of nonionic surfactant on the pressure filtration of tincal ore clay minerals was investigated. The filtration of clays was not possible without flocculation. In the presence of flocculant, the surfactant addition caused to decrease of the filtration rate in the pressure filtration, which is different from the literature. The surfactant addition caused to disperse of the formed flocks of the clay suspensions and decreased the flock strength. The residual moisture content of the clay mineral filter cakes was also increased. This study covers the zeta potential measurements in the clay suspensions to find out the relation between the surfactant concentration and the surface charge of the minerals. The change of the filtration rate of clay minerals with the surfactant addition in the presence of flocculant has been investigated.
