Özet
This paper studies the performance of one-dimensional (1D) site response approach in capturing the spectral acceleration (SA) of recorded strong ground motions at two different strong ground motion stations located at Duzce during the 23rd November 2022 Golyaka (Duzce) Türkiye earthquake (Mw of 5.9) that caused moderate-to-high level damages in reinforced concrete and masonry buildings. The data recorded at TK8105 were used as rock motions as inputs to two sets of one-dimensional (1D) nonlinear (NL) and equivalent-linear (EL) site response analyses (SRA) using station TK8101 and TK8110 profiles with small-strain damping (Dmin) representing inherent soil material damping and with Dmin adjusted considering κ0 (high-frequency spectral decay) parameter. It was observed that 1D SRA seems to capture the location of the peak SA of recorded data but significantly overestimates the amplitudes of SA for TK8101 and TK8110. Moreover, the κ0-informed simulations were demonstrated to produce surface SA values more consistent with those of recorded motions at soft site stations for short periods (< 0.1 s) relative to simulations adopting only soil material Dmin.
