Özet

Although cul-de-sacs are found to be more successful in terms of social interaction than other street layouts in current studies, there is not enough research evidence evaluating the social interaction that occurs in cul-de-sacs based on the effects of spatial and human-based factors. In this context, the study aims to examine the role of spatial and human-based factors in the formation of social interaction in cul-de-sacs. For this aim, the relationship between spatial and human-based factors with social interaction in cul-de-sacs, and whether these factors change according to the demographic characteristics of the users, are examined. The data were collected through a face-to-face survey and evaluated through descriptive statistics, path analysis and t-tests. The results show that social interaction is predominantly related to human-based factors and spatial factors have only indirect effects on the formation of social interaction.
