Özet

In this study, the effect of micro-arc oxidation on surface properties including the morphology, wettability and biocompatibility of a Ti6Al4V alloy was investigated. Micro-arc oxidation process which was performed in two different electrolytic solutions, namely "Na3PO4 + KOH" and "(CH3COO)2CaH2O + Na 3PO4", formed porous titanium oxide layer composed of anatase and rutile on the surfaces. Additionally, (CH3COO) 2Ca.H2O + Na3PO4 solution caused precipitation of Ca and P containing particles. When compared to the "Na3PO4 + KOH" solution, the oxide layer formed in "(CH3COO)2Ca.H2O + Na 3PO4" solution exhibited higher roughness and better wettability. SBF tests conducted on the sample oxidized in "(CH 3COO)2CaH2O + Na3PO 4" solution for 30 days induced formation of hydroxyapatite over the oxide layer.
