Özet
A number of studies have reported on the positive aspects of land readjustment (LR) methods in various countries, but the problematic issues associated with LR implementation have been studied less frequently. Any legal or technical mistakes made during the LR process can have serious consequences. This article examines why LR projects have been annulled by the administrative courts and what the consequences are, by focusing on Turkey as a case study. The analysis of annulments reveals that both generic and country-specific factors are at fault. Lessons for other countries that should help to reduce annulment cases and the negative consequences for urban development are suggested.
