TÜRKIYE'DE YERALTI KÖMÜR OCAKLARINA YÖNELIK MADEN MEVZUATI VE UYGULAMALARININ HAVALANDIRMA VE IS GÜVENLIGI AÇISINDAN KRITIǦI

This study aims at criticising the current Turkish mining legislation for underground coal mines and its applications in terms of ventilation and occupational safety. For this purpose, the criteria referring to ventilation will be examined and criticised by comparing them to legislation in countries where there is intense coal mining activities. In this context, the subjects such as minimum air velocity, thermal comfort values, number and location of gas monitoring sensors, gas content measurements, determination of spontaneous combustion liability of coal seams and quality of permanent stoppings and seals will be dealt in particular. Moreover, problems and ambiguousness observed in applications in underground coal mines to meet the criteria in the current Turkish mining legislation will be presented. It is considered that the study will be useful to better evaluate the mining legislation for underground coal mines and eliminate the problems and ambiguousness in the legislation and its applications.
