Özet

The aim of this research was to remove ash and sulfur by molten caustic leach method and to recover the metals such as molybdenum, nickel, vanadium and zinc present in the Sirnak asphaltite located in South-Eastern part of Turkey. In the tests, effects of the parameters such as, reaction temperature, reaction time, particle size, type of acid, and ratio of asphaltite/NaOH were investigated. At the optimum conditions, solid fuel was obtained being 26.1 % run of mine asphaltite by weight and containing 8,55 % ash and 1,44 % sulfur while approximately % 47 % Ni, 78 % Zn, 96 % V and 90 % Mo of the sample were extracted in the final leach solution.
