Özet
Total sulphation capacities of 36 limestone and 6 dolomite samples, originating from different parts of Tiirkiye, were determined. Sulphation experiments were carried out in a tube furnace at a constant temperature of 1173 K and in a gaseous mixture consisting of 15 vol% CO2, 0.35 vol% SO2 and a balance of dry air by volume. Measured sulphation capacities of limestone samples from 0.381 to 0.689 (mg S03/mg sorbent) and those of dolomites range between 0.321-0.498 (mg S03/mg sorbent). Sorption capacities of the stones were found vary significantly depending on physical properties of the calcines of the stones and an empirical relation between the sorption capacity and physical properties (total pore volume and pore radius) of calcines was obtained.
