Özet

Si3N4/SiC composites are ceramic materials that exhibit excellent performance for technical and engineering applications. In this study, a novel sintering method, spark plasma sintering, was applied to produce Si3N4/SiC composites. 0 wt %, 2 wt %, 5 wt %, 10 wt %, 20 wt % C black powder was added into Si3N4 matrix composite. Y2O3 and AlN were added as sintering additives. The composites were sintered by using the spark plasma sintering method in 15 min heating to 1650°C and 5 min dwell time. The effects of addition of C black on the mechanic properties and morphology of Si3N4 ceramic composite were determined. Microstructures of the sintered samples were observed by SEM images and phase compositions were analysed by XRD.
