The idea for this special issue is an output of an international workshop titled “Social Capital and Rural Development” on March 22-23, 2018 in İzmir, Turkey. The workshop is funded by The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey under the program whose aim is to foster bilateral academic collaboration between Turkish and US academics (2223D).
