Özet

In this study, the mechanism of the scouring around and sinking of subsea structures with different shapes (cube, cuboid, cylinder) under waves combined with current is studied using flume experiments on a sediment bed. Different boundary conditions are considered as for the model structure, such as free to move, free to move only in the vertical direction, and fixed. Results show a strong dependency between the scour/sinking depth and the Shields parameter and the KeuleganCarpenter number. The tilting of the free structures is also investigated, and results show that due to the asymmetric scour geometry, the maximum tilting occurs in the current case.
