Özet
Electrochemical oxidation of substituted thiophenes yields conducting polymers, which are used as conducting supports for metal particles. These systems are attractive for fuel cell applications based on the electrooxidation of small organic molecules. In the current study, Pt, Ru and WO3 microparticles were electrochemically deposited on conducting poly(3-methyl)thiophene films. The electrooxidation of methanol was investigated on this material. Modification with binary or ternary metal dispersed electrodes shows superior properties for the electrooxidation reaction as compared to Pt-dispersed electrodes.
