Maintenance is not only performed when damage appears but also contains required operations for establishing and evaluating the current situation of elevator installations. By applying planned and periodic maintenance, the continuous and reliable service time of elevators will be increased and the need for repair will be reduced. In this article, elevator maintenance methods are discussed, preventive maintenance methods of elevator installations are examined, the regulations and standards are considered.
