Özet

The dynamics of the pressure fluctuations are analyzed using a relatively large-scale direct simulation of a turbulent boundary layer. Proper turbulent inflow conditions, key in boundary layers, are generated by an auxiliary simulation at lower resolution and Reynolds number. Special emphasis is put on the contamination of the pressure statistics due to the inflow boundary conditions. It is shown that extraneous pressure fluctuations are due to the variations in the mass-flow rate at the inflow, and a remedy is proposed.
