Özet

Pipelines maintaining and upgrading are the most important undertakings for utility companies. Excavation work is required to reach the pipe for possible maintenance works that may occur on the pipelines. It is possible to detect the pipeline using the electromagnetic waves because there exists the frequency range for which the ground is transparent. Pipeline gives resonance response for some frequencies and makes it easily detectable. In this work, the Method of Auxiliary Sources (MAS) is used for direct scattering problem solution of the electromagnetic waves by the ground with pipeline inside. Some interesting results are obtained and analyzed.
