Özet
Aging is an inevitable process for all living beings, and the changes visible on the skin over time are particularly noticeable. The importance of comprehending the complexity of the aging process has grown. Skin aging is caused by both internal and environmental factors, such as genetic changes, oxidative stress, and hormone imbalances. As a result of worries about the safety of synthetic chemicals in cosmetics, a trend toward natural components, particularly plant-derived extracts, has occurred. Polyphenols, flavonoids, and terpenoids, for example, have attracted interest for their antibacterial, antioxidant, and antiaging activities. Plant stem cell extracts, which are high in active chemicals, have emerged as a natural antiaging source, with kinetin identified as a potent cytokine with significant effects. Polyphenols, terpenoids, and alkaloids, among other phytochemicals, exhibit promising antiaging benefits. These chemicals have antioxidant, anticollagenase, and antielastase properties, addressing several aspects of skin aging. Plant hormones, particularly phytoestrogens, have estrogen-like activity, delaying or reversing indications of aging. Isoflavones like genistein and daidzein have shown considerable improvements in skin conditions and collagen synthesis. This review highlights the growing interest in plant-derived compounds for antiaging cosmetics. The development of effective and sustainable cosmetic formulations is facilitated by the diverse array of phytochemicals, secondary metabolites, and plant hormones, paving the path for a green revolution in the beauty sector.
