Özet

The properties of two-ply ring, rotor and air-jet spun yarns are investigated and compared here, while their performance when made into single jersey fabric is also compared. Two-ply yarns were spun by all three methods in two different blends and from 100% cotton. The characteristics of each yarn are given in table 1. After spinning these yarns were knitted into single jersey fabrics on a sample knitting machine with 176 needles. All samples were kept in standard atmosphere conditions for two weeks before testing. The measured properties of the dry and fully relaxed fabrics made by ring, rotor and air-jet spun processes in each of three blends is tabulated in table IV. The conclusions reached is that despite the increased expense of production of plied yarns they offer advantages that will ensure their continued use.
