Özet
Performance gains from winding adjustments to multiphase motors are sometimes desirable to make more effective use of existing production lines. One of the simplest and most cost-effective ways to change the design is to change the stator winding arrangements. This allows the current production line and lamination stamps to be retained as the dimensions of the motor remain unchanged. This study analyses a three-phase synchronous reluctance machine (SynRM) design and its five-phase conversion by stator rewinding. The design process is carried out by defining the constraints and selecting the initial rating. A three-phase motor is then designed and analysed. Later, the same machine is rewound to form a multiphase machine and evaluated in terms of copper and iron losses, efficiency, power factor and torque capability. The differences between these two machines are then compared.
