Park Vector Approach based Misalignment Detection Strategy for IMs

Özet

Tracking mechanical problems using current signal is a very promising area with the ease of data collection. For this aim, in this study, a misalignment detection strategy has been developed using Park Vector Approach (PVA). PVA is applied to healthy and misaligned induction motor's current signals during steady state and starting. It is noticed that the shape of Lissajou's curve is informative during steady-state operation. On the other hand, the thickness of curve is more descriptive during starting. As the proposed detection strategy, in the existence of these two factors, namely the shape defect in steady state and thicker curve structure in starting, the motor can be labeled as misaligned. Besides the proposed strategy, this study is a good example of PVA application to transient periods, in experimental basis. The study brings a unique contribution to the literature by the employment of transient data and combining two findings based on PVA.
