Özet
The release of the particulate matter on diesel vehicles is reduced by diesel particulate filters. These filters are designed to collect the solid and liquid particulate emissions while also allowing exhaust gases to pass through the system. Diesel particle filter increases the back pressure and affects the engine performance because of the geometrical characteristics and the accumulation of soot and particulate matter with time. Therefore, back pressure of a diesel particulate filter should be calculated at the design stage. In this study, the diesel particulate filters' geometrical characteristic effects on the pressure drop was examined. Diameter, length and number of cells per unit area were evaluated.
