Özet

The eigencharacteristics of multi-step rods carrying a tip mass subjected to non-homogeneous external viscous damping were studied. The study is concerned with the establishment of two methods for computing the eignecharacteristics of a continuous rod. The excellent agreement of the numerical results for three sample systems obtained via the two methods justifies the reliability of the formulae established.
