Özet
We provide a new semi-analytic calculations for the electromagnetic multi-pair productions in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions. We have compared our results with the equivalent-photon approximation and path integral method.

Multi-pair production is mainly dominated at impact parameters smaller than the Compton wavelength of the electron. Thus one would like to isolate the relatively small impact parameters for the study of strong-field effects. Even though equivalent-photon approximation (EPA) predicts cross section for the valid impact parameters (~c _< b _< 0.6817~c/2), it looses applicability beyond this ranges. On the other hand, we have derived a well behaved semi-analytic expressions for the impact parameter dependence cross section valid for all impact parameters and predict multi-pair production probability. In conclusion, with the higher-energy heavy-ion colliders, the study of the physics of the two-photon process emerges an an exiting new field. The ability to calculate the impact parameter dependence of the cross section and the related ability to calculate multiple-pair production provides an additional piece in the understanding of the process and are particularly important as we find we are able to work in a region where the simpler equivalent-photon approximation is not applicable.
