Özet
In this study, a design method aiming for minimum entropy generation in a heat transfer process is derived and developed for a special condition: the heat transfer between the flows in the pipe that is in the supercritical region and the one across the pipe. Both of the flows have difficulties to be investigated because of their special characteristics. The method is applied to a fluidized bed boiler in a power cycle, and the effect of the method on the first and second law efficiencies of both the boiler and the cycle are examined. The operation is repeated for standard pipe geometries, and the results are also tabulated from the economic point of view.
