Özet

This paper presents a case study performed at a Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul Station (MRO) about maintenance human errors and their contributing factors using Maintenance Error Decision Aid (MEDA) contributing factors model and improvement tools for the errors. Error types are evaluated and lean improvement tools are used for corrective actions. This MRO used lean tools such as 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain), Accelerated Improvement Workshop (AIW), Value Stream Mapping (VSM) for improvement of the root causes between 2006 and 2008. Risk assessment index is obtained and comparisons are made with the published results obtained at two other MRO stations.
