Özet

Handover and new call admittance procedures have significant impacts on Low Earth Orbit(LEO) satellite systems. Satellite footprints are divided into cells (called spotbeams) for efficient frequency reuse. Due to the high mobility of the LEO satellite system, the satellite coverage areas change frequently. As a consequence there are a great number of spotbeam handover operations arising. Although there are different mechanism proposed for cell handover, they can not improve new and ongoing call handover rates at the same time. In this paper we propose a new resource reservation method which is called Matching Reservation Algorithm(MRA). The goals of this method are reducing the new call dropping rate and increasing the successful handover rate simultaneously.
