Marmara Bolgesindeki yagisin ana bilesenler analizi

In the Marmara region of Turkey, 25 meteorological stations were chosen to study the seasonal and yearly precipitation totals observed from 1961 to 1990 inclusive. Pricipal component (PC) analysis is used to study the rainfall distribution over the area. Three PC's are selected such that the first is an index of the mean areal rainfall which affects the whole region, the second represents the influence of continental climate towards the inward area of Thrace and the effect of the mountains at the west part of the region, whereas the third component explains the marine influence of the surrounding seas on precipitation. The first three components highlight the intra-annual constancy of inter-regional variability and indicate strong geographical and topographical controls. -from English summary
