Özet

Enzymes are increasingly being used in the textile industry to prepare textile goods. In this study, knitted cotton fabric was scoured with pectinase. Treatment conditions were optimized by varying the amount of surfactant, pectinase, and treatment time. Treatment effectiveness on fabric properties was determined via water absorbency, weight loss, scanning electron microscope, and qualitative analysis of residual pectin on the fabric. The goal of this research is to evaluate and optimize acidic pectinase scouring at 40C.
