Investigation of irradiation mechanisms while bombarding fusion reactor wall with deuterium

Özet

Deuterium and tungsten are major fuel elements and chosen wall material for the nuclear fusion reactor, ITER. These elements intermingle via processes after the collision, such as sputtering and reflection. In this study, we present the interaction of tungsten wall with deuterium atoms at energy values varying from 100 eV to 500 eV by employing binary collision approximation (BCA) model. The effects such as, backscattering, sputtering and penetration depth for deuterium atoms are simulated separately for each energy value in specific incident angles between 0° and 75°. Thus, it was aimed to contribute for the better laying direction of tungsten.
