Özet

The noise pollution problems and their effects on the environment, the strict regulations for reducing noise levels concerning maritime transportation and military applications makes performing reliable noise predictions more crucial. Acoustic phenomena have a great motivation because of the growing demand for estimation noise levels. The using of hybrid approaches provides a great contribution for the investigation of the mechanisms of noise generation and propagation. This paper deals with the use of hybrid approaches for the estimation of flow noise levels around circular cylinders, which is an important issue in marine applications and other engineering fields. The Ffowcs-Williams and Hawkings approach is chosen to carry out the acoustic analyses, while the calculation of the flow field is performed by using RANS, DES and LES turbulence models. The results have been compared with the available experimental results in literature. Considering the computational costs and the calculation accuracy, DES-FWH and Omega-FWH models are revealed to be the most efficient ones.
