Özet

The evolving weather and climate conditions present projected risks to societal well-being. Understanding the direct and indirect impacts of various air masses, weather patterns, and climatic shifts on human health remains limited, especially given the uncertainties inherent in studying future climate change and ever-fluctuating weather. This study aims to quantify these uncertainties and risks concerning climate, weather phenomena, and human health in Turkey. Both developed and developing nations lack comprehensive strategies for early warning, prevention, reduction, and mitigation of diseases like heatstroke, malaria/dengue, flu, and hemorrhagic fevers, which are either directly caused or exacerbated by extreme weather events and changing climate patterns. The research sheds light on heightened illness risks due to factors such as stagnant water (contributing to diseases like flu, malaria, and dengue via mosquito transmission) and heat-related ailments such as heat strokes. Furthermore, variations in rainfall timing, bacterial concentrations, and extreme temperatures can worsen the outbreak of multiple diseases. Environmental factors have amplified the impact of natural disasters, emerging as significant contributors to fatalities in Turkey.
