Özet

Smart solutions aimed at enhancing the quality of life from a sustainability perspective have begun to demonstrate their impact in all urban areas. These technological advancements and changes also play a significant role in shaping the identity of cities by encompassing their historic areas. The impact of technological advancements is rapidly increasing in the management systems of cultural heritage sites, as well. The use of contemporary technologies in all stages of heritage site management enables a detailed monitoring of the entire process. Regarding this technological progress, intelligent data platforms have become effective in continuous monitoring the management process. Through these platforms, different stages of management systems are integrated, allowing for control, review, and updates to be facilitated. Among these intelligent data platforms, heritage-based ones play a crucial role in the monitoring and management of World Heritage Sites. These specific tools, which are titled as “Intelligent Heritage Data Platforms” in this paper, leverage advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data analytics, internet of things and cloud computing to collect, integrate and analyze data on the proper management, protection and preservation of these culturally and historically significant areas. The aim of this paper is to investigate the impact of intelligent data platforms in strengthening the monitoring and control mechanisms of World Heritage Site management systems across Europe’s leading heritage management cases, especially Bath and Florence. In this context, both the World Heritage Site management systems and intelligent data platforms are examined to validate the performance and efficacy of a continuous monitoring model. In order to achieve the goal of the study, it is suggested to first address the management systems, and to accomplish the whole process through the use of smart systems. In this way, the conservation of cultural heritage sites in the field of technological innovations will be realized with an intelligent solution, resulting in time and cost savings. This paper aims to focus on the impact of intelligent data platforms on strengthening monitoring and control mechanisms within the management systems of historical cultural environments listed in the world heritage. The study briefly emphasizes the importance of preventive measures against potential problems and timely intervention through continuous smart monitoring methods defined in management plans. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, the first step is to investigate the impact of smart systems on historical cultural environments to ensure the optimization of conservation processes by using the data obtained from these systems. The creation of a specific framework for the effective use of smart systems in cultural heritage areas and the inevitable step of systematic collection of data obtained from these systems are emphasized. In this context, the article aims to emphasize the importance of these platforms and establish the general framework of intelligent heritage data platforms to ensure continuous monitoring of management plan objectives.
