Özet
Air quality is a crucial matter for protection of the ecosystem. The atmosphere of the urban areas is affected by both natural and anthropogenic emissions. The attempts to monitor and manage the pollutant emissions from the sources and emissions in the troposphere and indoors aim to protect public health and need full cooperation between national and international organizations. Since the 1950s, air pollution monitoring devices have become more selective, precise, modular, and easy to use. The data production and evaluations have been supported by satellite observations and intercommunication systems. International cooperation has become more encouraging for the future. In this chapter, an outline of the matter is presented.
