Özet
This study investigates the impact of sampling frequency on TDOA-based positioning systems deployed on UAVs. Traditional methods utilizing fixed receiver stations for triangulation are limited in performance, particularly in large-scale emergency scenarios such as earthquakes and avalanches. UAV-mounted systems become prominent to address the performance issue. However, they are prone to weight and processing power limititations. By focusing on the tradeoff between sampling frequency and system performance, this research aims to enhance the effectiveness of TDOA-based positioning in UAV operations, optimizing their usage in critical search and rescue missions. Simulation results show that the proposed UAV-mounted solution utilizing low sampling frequency improves positioning accuracy when the TDOA information is calculated through the curve fitting method on the correlation peaks.
