Özet

In this chapter, gas turbine cycles for power production processes and applications are thoroughly examined, covering fundamental concepts as well as advanced topics. Both open and closed Brayton cycles are described in detail, providing the necessary thermodynamic and conceptual background. Energy and exergy analyses are performed for three working fluid scenarios: stoichiometric standard air, actual air, and actual air-fuel mixtures. A comprehensive comparison of these models is presented, focusing on their thermodynamic performance and efficiencies. Additionally, the historical and technological evolution of gas turbine systems is outlined, including an overview of recent advancements. To further illustrate the concepts, sample problems and case studies are provided to demonstrate key analysis techniques and identify the effects of operating parameters on system performance and efficiency.
