Özet
Mechanical properties of rocks have a great part in the designing of rock constructions. The most used parameter to understand the rock behavior is uniaxial compressive strength (UCS). This parameter is generally determined in the laboratory studies, however it is sometimes needed to determine this parameter from the other test, especially from in-situ studies. After that, the correlations between UCS and the other mechanical properties of rocks are constructed. Because of the uncertainty of rock material properties, making fuzzy model for the assessment of the relation between UCS and Schmidt hammer hardness is encouraged. In this study, the correlation between these parameters is modeled by fuzzy approaches. As a result of this study, it can be easily said that the fuzzy model between UCS and Schmidt hammer hardness is more reliable and useful, and fuzzy model treats of obscure and uncertain appreciations.
