Özet
Microwave hyperthermia (MH) treatment is a thermal therapy method that utilizes the destructive effect of high temperatures generated by electromagnetic (EM) waves directed through antennas placed around the tumor tissue. This method is used in many areas, such as the treatment of breast cancer. The effectiveness of MH treatment in breast cancer varies depending on the design and position of the antenna array. In this study, dipole fractal octagonal ring antenna (FSHA) was used by creating a circular-shaped antenna array (applicator). Eight applicators were created by positioning different numbers of antennas (6,8,10,12) in both horizontal and vertical orientations. The relationship between different applicator geometries and the success of MH therapy was examined. According to the findings, the best MH performance was observed in applicators consisting of 12 antennas in vertical and horizontal positions. The results are important for understanding antenna design criteria in the MH treatment of breast cancer.
