Fay denetimli bir havzada sedimanter dolgunun niteligi ve evrimi: Cankiri havzasi kuzeyinden Lutesiyen yasli bir ornek

Thick and coarse grained sediments of the northern Cankiri Basin mark the birth and evolution phases of the basin during Lutetian times. To the northern part of the study area, the basin is bordered by a synsedimentary fault from where debris and sheet floods supplied sediments to the alluvial fan and fan delta environments. Further to the south, towards the interior of the basin, sedimentary bodies become thinner. Several environments ranging from meandering river to pro-delta, are encountered at various stratigraphic levels. Six paleogeographic reconstructions based upon the bed-by-bed environmental interpretation of detailed stratigraphic measured sections indicate the temporal and spatial relationships of the clastic systems in this fault-controlled basin.
