Özet

In this study, nanocomposite scaffolds were obtained by incorporating 58S bioactive glass (58S) and 58S bioactive glass particles, which contain copper and zinc (CuZn 58S) into the gelatin-chitosan electrospun nanofibers for bone tissue engineering applications. Bioactive glasses were obtained by using the sol–gel process. The obtained nanocomposite scaffolds were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectroscopy, and antibacterial tests against Escherichia coli (ATCC 25922). The bioactivity of the samples was tested in simulated body fluid. According to the results, CuZn 58S containing nanocomposite scaffolds could be a potential material for bone tissue engineering applications with further modifications of copper content of CuZn 58S.
