Özet
Due to their high corrosion resistance, high tensile capacity and lightness, composite rebars could be preferred in the next generation concrete structures designed and constructed especially in aggressive environments. This study presents an experimental investigation into the bond behaviour of defarmed carbon fibre reinfarced polymer (CFRP) bars in high strength concrete (C60 or 60 MPa). Development lengths between 5d and 25d with 5d increments (d=bar diameter) were taken as the main parameter. Ten specimens of d= LO mm-diameter deformed bars embedded in high strength unconfined concrete blocks were designed and pullout tests were conducted with monotonically applied farces. Bath pullout and splitting types of failure modes were observed far the specimens. Experimental results showed that the obtained minimum and maximum loads of 16 kN and 83 kN were far below the maximum capacity ( 110 kN) of the CFRP bars used.
