Environment-friendly treatment of filament yarns by air-jets

Air intermingling/interlacing is applied to impact a temporary cohesion to parallel filaments of flat or textured yarns as an ecological and economical alternative to sizing and twisting. Nevertheless, the intermingled yarn has a major drawback: the interlacing knots create visual problems in the final fabric. Interlacing without visible knots is introduced and a novel development for this purpose is reported in this paper.
