Özet
In this study, it is aimed to analyse the contribution of adaptive road lighting (ARL) applications to energy saving rates in properly designed LED road lighting installations. On a pilot road, road lighting operation hours according to the sunrise and sunset times, change in traffic density, environmental conditions and the number of rainy days were evaluated, and road lighting automation scenarios were created throughout the year. A hybrid control strategy method has been developed in which a central control strategy (static) based on previous data and with a vehicle tracking system (dynamic) are used together. It has been calculated that 36 % energy savings can be achieved with the static ARL application, while the savings rate will increase to 46 % in hybrid ARL. When precipitation conditions are considered, savings rates decrease to 23 % in static ARL and 30 % in hybrid ARL.
