Özet
Energy is the driving force of industry, which consists of generation, transmission, distribution, conversion and storage processes. All of these processes involve energy conversion. Conversion of particular energy form into a useable energy is defined as generation. Conversing generated energy into any form for later use is defined as the energy storage. Every energy storage device is also considered as energy conversion device. Energy conversion and storage devices also provided rapid growth in electric vehicles, portable electronics, grids, etc. Electrical vehicles use electrical interface to store energy in the battery in the form chemical. There are also mechanical energy storage, compressed air energy storage, superconducting magnetic energy storage and thermal energy storage, which are focused. Energy conversion and storage are the driving force for maintaining a stable and continuous development for the industry. The technology associated with the concept of energy storage, primary and renewable energy sources and energy conversion systems are all interrelated. In terms of the double-conversion chain, which is described as “electricity-storable intermediary energy-electricity,” the storable intermediary energy is established by sophisticated conversion systems between the energy sources and the electricity. In order to improve the understanding of energy conversion associated with the energy sources, the conversion technologies are reviewed in terms of the operation principles of the conversion systems. The main focus is the optimizations in these energy sources, especially in renewable energy, energy storage and associated technologies. The energy conversion technologies are discussed under the energy concept and an evaluation is provided in terms of the existing and emerging technologies.
