Einfluss des waschens auf die eigenschaften von Lacoste-Bindungen

The effect of laundering on the dimensional and certain physical properties of a series of plain jersey and Lacoste fabrics made from cotton ring- and open-end-spun yarns of Ne 30 have been investigated. The dimensions and properties of the fabrics were changed mainly by the loop shape, rather than by the yarn length/stitch. The dimensional stability of both types of fabrics depends greatly on the yarn length/stitch. The laundering programmes used for the study caused both types of fabric to shrink less, but the level of skew increased. The results, as well as SEM photographs suggest that the Lacoste structures have a higher resistance to pilling than the plain jersey fabrics, but the results are greatly affected by the types of test methods used. Ring-spun yarns, especially combed yarns, resulted in a high abrasion resistance on both types of fabric. A lower weight loss occurred after five washing processes, than after three washing cycles with a wetting agent and tumble drying.
