Özet

In this paper, the differential quadrature method is used for the free vibration analysis of laminated plates of variable thickness. The plate is considered to be thin and classical plate theory is used when formulating the problem. The differential quadrature method (DQM) is used to discretize the physical domain by converting the governing differential equation of the tapered plate into a set of algebraic equations. Both simply supported (SS) and clamped (C) boundary conditions are considered. The free vibration frequencies are compared with the ones obtained by using ANSYS. The results are found to be in good agreement.
