Detection and location of buried dielectric objects beneath a rough interface

Özet

A new method to detect and locate the objects buried under a rough interface between two half-spaces is presented. The method is based on the determination of equivalent surface impedance of the half-space where the bodies are located. Equivalent surface impedance is obtained by the analytical continuation of the measured far field data to a planar surface just above the rough interface. Observing the contributions of the buried objects to the impedance function one can detect and locate them. Method is tested by some numerical simulations and quite satisfactory results are obtained.
